Hi all! Ive just got an email from head office regarding the new £25 joining offer. 8 parties and £600 sales between now and 27th December is reasonable i think. Whats everyone up to this weekend? Im goin to my friends little girl's birthday party (shes 1) tomorrow and then got my training on sunday. So a busy weekend for me. Hubby's gone out and kids are in bed so think im gonna get a bath and then watch tv with a nice cup of tea and a bar of chocolate!

Have got some amber bath and shower gel which smells gorgeous in the bottle so gonna see what its like. Cant wait to do my party next week. I miss it when i dont have a party on a friday night lol.

Your manager has given you good ideas. One thing to remember is not to upset store staff. I was in store yesterday, I wore black like the store staff and approached people by asking if I could help them, if they said no then I offered them entry to my free prize draw. then I got talking to them about how I didn't actually work in store but was an 'at home' consultant. I asked them if they'd heard of TBSAH or if having a party might be something they could be interested in. I was there for 3 hours and got 2 parties booked and about 5 who said they would have parties in the new year / next christmas / if I called in a couple of days etc so we'll see how those turn out.

What I mean by not upsetting store staff is try not to take their sales. They have targets for each day and you should try to encourage the customer to buy as much as possible. If you get overheard saying 'don't buy that here, have a party and I'll get it for you for free' then you won't be welcome back in store ever again.
  • Hi! Well when going into the store it's best if you wear black so that it looks like you are part of the team...easier for customers to spot you! Generally the manager will let you anywhere on the shop floor but in my experience it will be best for you to set up around where the demo table is. However the demo table may be being used as it will be a saturday (or at least it should be!) so just past it, in the middle of the store will be best.

There will generally be a greeter or someone at the front to build a rapport with customers so its best to approach customers when theyve been spoken too, they are more relaxed and willing to chat this way.

When consultants used to come into my store they sometimes carried out demos and consultations too, this really helped boost their leads!

Ok hope this helps! Good luck!!
  • cool thanks ellie, i was wondering what to wear. hopefully no one will ask me a question i dont know the answer to! should i make up a nice pack so they can see what the prize is or not bother? Should i take anything else, business cards, recruitment dvds etc?
  • Having the prize to view is always useful!
One thing following on from elliep saying about the store staff.....one of the situations that came up from other stores on my region was that sometimes if a BSAH consultant stands near the door and approaches people with a clipboard sometimes customers would get scared away (thinking youre doing a survey or something) and store staff wouldnt have the option to approach the customers.
Generally it was only because the staff in store have certain targets too?
But im sure you will be great if you station yourself away from the door a little??
    Gosh, i write alot....!
    Hope this helps tho?
  • The stores were all sent alot of recruiting DVDS so they should offer them to you, if you do take them i would only give them to customers really interested.

P.S let us know how you get on!!

I took some business cards and DVDs but besides leaving some cards with the shop for them to give out I didn't use them, might have been a good idea though so perhaps worth trying.
I didn't have a table anywhere but was able to put my prize draw prize on the side of the till to point at as in 'there is the prize' from wherever I was in the store. I did also take and give out a couple of catalogues and I gave a host pack to each of the two people who booked a party (only had 2 packs so just as well the I didn't get any more parties). The main things to remember are your prize, prize draw slips and a pen. you can make do without the other stuff but a few catalogues and host packs could be useful.

I did lots of selling christmas gifts to customers, they came in to browse but I was so excited about the new fragrances they ended up buying gifts! the store loved me, gave me samples and invited me back to a love your body (20% discount day) for their loyal customers. They also loved having me there to help with customers as they have a mystery shop coming soon and were wanting to tidy shelves and take note of any broken signage etc.
  • well, i dont have a clipboard so that shouldnt be a problem! Of course i wouldnt want to get in the way of the staff, i know i'd be annoyed if it were the other way around! i think i'm just afraid of looking like a spare part in the store! i'm sure it will be fine though, its only 3 hours afterall! thanks for your tips guys, i wll take a pamper pack for a prize and hopefully get some leads.
  • Evening all :)

    First proper party tomorrow

I know a couple of people who will be wanting the Brazil nut body butter but it is not in the catalogue? How do you go about getting a list of all body shop products? Or can you only order whats in the catalogue?

Also whilst you are doing the makeover what do you all say?Any buzzwords/ tips to them?
I mean obviously I cannot stand there doing make over and not talking it through but I dont really know what I will say, I will be using shimmer waves I think
