Without sounding harsh, is your DH actually allergic or ill when he eats pasta etc or does he just not like?
It must be really hard work for you.

Whilst not an ideal solution, when you do cook your various options, could you do a batch and freeze some meals in portion sizes.
So, after a week, you could make shepherds pie for OH, with extra to freeze and you and your son could have a frozen ready meal...spag bol.
Next night you and OH could have frozen and son could have something with rice.
Another option is to top shepherds pie with mashed carrot/turnip instead of potato for your son.

Could you give an example of what you currently cook.

How about bacon wrapped round chicken breast and baked - served with salad or roasted vegetables (like chopped swede, parsnip, carrots and red peppers)?

    Gammon steaks, veg and gravy

Erm was gonna say toad in the hole but that's out coz of milk....

Can you make chilli and leave out the onions and then serve them in wraps (or with rice)?

Chicken and leek pie? I've got a recipe for the pie filling that uses marge, stock and flour (no cream at all).

    Omelet with salad?

Erm... that's about as far as I get at the moment (I have to limit my diary and OH avoids carbs but not quite as complicated as you guys).

I do chicken pieces, sliced peppers and sweetcorn all stirfried in a sweet chilli sauce and then served in wraps.

For the kids I do scrambled egg and chopped bacon served in pitta breads (for lunch usually) but you could add salad or add peas and sweetcorn into the scrambled egg.

Sausage casserole I do with a colemans packet :o (not sure if it has tomato in) but it's a bit more gravy like - I bung in red lentils, chopped carrots, parsnips, peas, sweetcorn (whatever I've got) and add a tin of butterbeans in too. I do this with passata as the sauce too but would create tomato issues :D

    Hi,
I know how hard it is dealing with several people being allergic to things in the house. My daughter couldnt eat gluten for the first 8 years of her life, and my son threw up every time he had milk, and my other son was covered head to toe in eczema, so i know it is really difficult!
I did end up cooking seperate meals for each of them, which was very time consuming, so i looked at all the ingredients they could eat, rather than focus on the ones they cant.
Why is one of your children unable to have dairy alternatives?there are so many substitutes oat milk, soya, rice milk, goats, sheeps. Usually if you cant tolerate dairy there is something else you can substitute with.
Is the pasta problem a dislike or intolerance also, as again, there are load of substitutes for wheat pasta. Millet, corn, rice pasta as all readily available now, in supermarkets.
I would list all the vegetables/meats they could eat, then start coming up with some ideas. Rice based dishes, wheat free pasta dishes, Nice filling casseroles, use sweetpotato instead of potatoes, or parsnip mashes well on top of cottage pies etc. It is all very possible, it just takes a little time to start meal planning, once you have done it for a few weeks, you will be able to come up with meals a lot faster.
    Hope this helps

you should be able to get a bit of variety going with meat and 2 veg by changing the meats and the veg.
Um what charbohydrates do you eat - rice? noodles? or is that too pasta'y?
What is your OH alergic to - is it gluten? maybe you could try gluten free stuff? um barley?
    Stir fry?
    Veg soups of different varietys
    salads
what about sweet potatoes instead of potatoes? roasted/mashed etc? I don't know if that would work? or have swede mash or something like that?

hi my son was very ill when he was born and this has left him with a few complications ,he is also deaf and this leads to congestion problems,
he has a very delicate reflux action and anything soft eg ,scrambled eggs ,custards porridge yoghurts ,milk mashed anything makes him violently sick he will can only eat dryer foods ,he will eat pasta as long as its not overcooked ,with only the smallest drop of sauce he will eat anything that can be chewed ,

he can only drink water or squash ,
all veg has to be raw for him to eat
he can eat bread but only dry bread,

he is only five and we do try him with lots of things and lots of encouragement ,

    we can all eat :
rice ,chicken, fish, beef ,lamb ,bacon ,sausage, noodles, and really thin sliced chips,

hubby can eat ,rice potatoes ,veg, all meats fish ,noodles,

me ; anything and everything except onions i love food

Butternut Squash is a good carb, we eat it roasted mainly, you could also bake it in the oven (halved) and serve with a meat filling inside , make soup out of it, mash it... Tesco's had an offer on them last week and I bought one for £1 which served us as a side dish for 2 meals

    Stuffed peppers are pretty yummy

Can you eat sweet potatoes/ Kumara?
