thetrainline.com Changing my travel time

Hi guys, I bought an advance ticket from thetrainline and now I want to change it to a few days earlier. Not only are they going to charge me a £10 'administration fee' for this but I have to call an 0870 number (0870 010 1296) to do it. I really can't afford to pay much more for this ticket, do you know of any alternative numbers (there are none on the no to 0870 website) or methods? Thanks so much:D

It will cost you the £10 admin fee. Thats what you agreed to when you bought the cheap, relatively inflexible, ticket.

Ps. why on earth did you buy from trainline? They are the worst vendor for booking fees, postage fees, etc.
  • I was foolish and !!!!less. Would you be able to recommend a better vendor? I travel by train a lot and it would be really helpful to know the best place to buy from. Thanks a lot.

ANY of the websites run by the train companies themselves - preferably the one that runs the major part of the trip you are taking as you MAY get discounts or other services that don't appear anywhere else

the admin fee is standard, they tell u that before u book, so i dont know why your complaining.

either buy a new advance at the current price or pay the £10 fee.... i think the fee will b cheaper than a new ticket.

I've stopped using Trainline and now using - firstgreatwestern.com
    No nasty postage fees.
