Grrrr! Blasted freebie computer! Sunday i set it up then it started switching off!
Phoned Technical help yesterday, but because it wasn't doing it then at the time, nothing they could do about it!
Started doing it tonight again and i managed to catch a couple of error's
'the application failed to be initialized' then it cut out, second time it was an ISASS.EXE error and now again the technical support is closed till morning!
Done absolute nothing 2 puter apart from sign into MSE!

Anyone any ideas on this? & sorry it's of the topic!

Another person that thanked you instead of quoting you :rotfl:

Did you connect it to the internet with antivurs\firewall software? You're going to have to catch the names of the failed apps.

eurgh. It takes a pc with no av\firewall running less than 50 seconds to pickup a virus! ...in particular LSass\Sasser worm which spreads quicker than news of a Tesco bargain.

This link might be your best bet.

    You could try this:

Download the Malicious Software Removal Tool
Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830)

Or you could just use the restore disk that came with the computer but if you do, before going anywhere near the internet make sure you have anti virus and firewall installed. Then access the internet and get updates for them and then go to Microsoft and get their updates before even looking at any other web site.
Make sure u only remove the Isass virus en not lsass. One is capital i en the other is lower case l (for ladies). lsass (Ladies) is a genuine microsoft process en Isass (Iko wapi) is a virus (toa hiyo). I did the mistake of not clarifying which is which en ended up givin ma comp to a tech head for repairs.

Think there may also be a scam going around telling you to delete the system file Lsass.

You may have to turn off system restore whe trying a repair as it may just put it back on reboot, also it may be a good idea to run antivirus check in safe mode.
