nPower: unreliable
I've just wasted a day's annual leave waiting around for nPower to turn up for a boiler checkup only to have it cancelled at 1pm - meaning I can't do a lot else with the day.
If you want someone who'll reliably turn up then I'd certainly not recommend them.
They had already rescheduled the appointment once as they decided they needed the engineer to do repairs.
They then called on the day to say they'd be there between midday-5pm so I booked a day's annual leave from work.
Was then called at 1pm to say the engineer's van had broken down and the appointment would have to be rescheduled as they had no other engineers (I live in central London so find this hard to believe).
I then asked for a refund rather than risk them wasting another day of my annual leave. They said they'd definitely not charged me.
Checking my account I found they had charged me. After 6 phone calls where they kept passing me between departments and hanging up on me I finally got a promise of a refund (which will take at least 10 working days).

I am also in the position of wasting a day for the arrival of an npower engineer. I had book a repair to my boiler, after being without heat and hot water for nearly six weeks. I was assured that the first available appointment was for today 15-7-2009 between 12.00pm and 4.30pm. I am self employed and run a shop, so had to employ extra staff to cover me for the day off. At 4.40pm after no engineer vist or telephone calls I rang npower only to be told that I was called at 11.58am to inform me that the engineer would not be able to call, but my line was busy!!!!!!!!!!! No one had the sense to call back or use that alternate number I had given. I cannot state how angry I am, I still have a non functioning boiler, and am in the position that I will need to organise another day off for maybe a fruitless wait. :mad:Lyn :hello:0
