Advice needed!!!!!!

Just decided to take the plunge after 8 years to swap energy suppliers from EON to N Power, and thought I should enter an up to date meter reading........ Just realised for goodness know how long the meter readings have been put in the wrong way round by not only me but EON as well. Am really worried that we are going to have a massive bill to pay. The girl at EON has said that it will be lower if she takes off the E7 tarriff which we havent really used but wont know the damage until the end of the week. I am really worried about this as by my calulations if it were only two years wrong I think it may be in the region of £800++++++++. Any advice would be gratefully received.

When the corrected bill turns up, if it is large and you cannot pay it in one go ask for a payment arrangement, pointing out to them their responsibilty in mixing up the meter readings.
