it doesn't say "you must read the documentation" anywhere so it would probably be missed even if it was in there
I wouldn't have thought anyone would need specifically instructed to read their own documentation, would have thought that's in the individual's own interests really.

That is being pedantic. They are effectively lending to you as you have not paid for something that you are getting use of. You are clutching at straws here. As a Halifax employee and underwriter you should know better. I think you just need to face facts, get over it - move on. Its not going to happen.

Maybe it is being pedantic but so what? I'm still going to go through with it and if I dont get anything from it then fine - if I do, its a bonus.

Thanks for your help Mini Mike...

I assume by this then you were a right to buy mortgage? As you work in the underwriting, then I am sure you are aware that the HA do not allow any form of lending on the mortgage for the 1st 3 years and then only home improvements in the last 2 years ( England may be slightly different, I'm quoting N Ireland properties here)
A payment holiday is in a sense, lending as you are increasing the debt.
Halifax have done nothing wrong and your complaint will not be upheld.
