I see. Southern Electric is not such a good deal then. The information on USwitch is misleading. It clearly says "Prices fixed until 2010". I will email them.

It seems the EON's "Price Protection 2009 V17" is your best bet after all then. You would initially be paying something like 13% more than you are currently, but the predicted price rises are very likely to be more than that, so you still end up better off in the longer term.0 -
Yes it is a shame that Southern electric has resorted to a play on words to confuse prospective customers. All you are getting is the fixed 2% off their standard tariff (some would say that is better than nothing but still liable for a 35% increase if BG is anything to go by)notbritishgas:

Reading other threads it does seem that the comparison sites have also been fooled because I believe they do show this tariff in their fixed/capped section.0 -
Personally I would say that Dec-Jun would be a higher consupmtion than Jun-Dec even if the periods are exactly the same. Jan/Feb tend to be colder than Nov/Dec and May/Jun colder than Jul/Aug.Looking at my gas bill from December 2007-June 2008, we've used 8474.68 kWh, so I'm assuming that I should double this plus maybe add a little bit on to find annual consumption? We pay £26.00 per month via direct debit.
Electric end No 07 to end May 2008, 2344 units - again, do I just double this and add a little extra on for annual consumption? We pay £43.00 per month via direct debit for electric.
So I would not double an add a bit but probably double and take some off (or multiply by 90%)
Same for argument for Leccy Nov-May but more so.
Not an exact science but hope you work it through0
