Any other sufferers out there?
If you dont know what it is it's bumpy red or mottled skin op the upper arms, can affect the legs and out eyebrow area of the face.
Is what it sounds like, keratin piles, blinking annoying with no cure and its hereditary.
As there is no known cure i want to hear about what others do to lessen the effects? How the cope with it and their stories.
Many thanks

AFAIK there IS a cure and also AFAIK its something to do with not enough essenstail fatty acids in the diet, such as omega 3's.
None of my family has it except DD i suspect cos her diet is carp - she is so fussy and will hardly eat a thing.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Are you sure it's KP, nothng to do with fatty acids im afraid. Its an over production of keratin in the skin or the stratum gravenousum layer does not dekeritinise propery, this layer is at its thickest on the upper arms, either fault will result in these piles.0 -
Sorry that was meant to be granulosum layer.0

Yup! I've got it, as have all the females in my mum's side of the family. I get it on my arms only, and haven't found a way to get rid of it completely. However I find it's better if I regularly (every day) scrub the area with those exfoliating gloves you can get from boots etc. I still get the red spots, but the skin is smooth rather than having raised bumps. I try to remember to moisturise the area with cocoa butter in the hope that the redness will fade.

I too have KP, found that exfoliating actually made it worse
I didn't go too hard, I actually used a soft bodybrush but it just made it look more red.
Moisturizing regularly makes a tiny bit of difference but the thing that really worked for me was this stuff Dermadoctor KP duty from here http://www.dermadoctor.com
I saw it advertised in an American magazine so picked up a tube when I was in New York and its incredible, so much so that I bought 6 tubes last time I was there as I have yet to find a UK stockist.
Its not cheap but it works so I am willing to pay for it as I have tried every skin buff, peel and conditioning treatment there is0 -
I have heard of that, strangly they have pretty much the same ingediets as flexitol heel balm0

Not that i have ever tried flexitol but anythings worth a shot:rotfl:0

ha ha thats one I haven't tried but I might give it a go if its cheaper
Not sure if the link works or not but there is an offer for a free sample of Flexitol here http://www.lookafteryourfeet.com/freeflexitol.htm0 -
I read that coconut oil based moisturisers are meant to be good. I have the body shop body butter (free trial, I don't shop there anymore) and a lotion from superdrug.
I don't know if it's the weather or the moisturisers but mine is looking better lately.
Mine is worst on the legs, (most vivid and obvious) thank heavens they rarely see the light of day...My TV is broken!
