laptop problems

I have a wireless connction with one laptop working but another one will not work

i used ipconfig/all it showed different numbers. The software of the one that dose not work is xp and the other is 98.

Where do i go????

can you copy and past ipconfig from both laptops to here?

Just paste it, as below (the names have been changed to protect the innocent!). You just need to click the icon at the very top-right of the command prompt window, choose Edit, then Mark, highlight the text to copy, then go back to the menu and choose Edit, then Copy. The text is now in the clipboard, so you should just be able to paste it into a message: You can even change the font to Courier so that the fixed-width characters are used, just like in the command prompt window:

I don't know much about networking, but a PC on the network shouldn't have the same IP as the router. Could that be the problem?

i made a typo

my isp mad me set up a wep secured connection due to fact that i was conplaining that i didnot use the system that much. this was proved to be the case now i want to use my laptop first wifi and then start to protect myself

the pc system did work fine but the laptop would not work. i have remove the pc encription a it is showing this by not having a padlock with the address, but the laptop didnot work and i was guided by my isp to set this up but after many phone calls i am trying to get help this way
