Lead Booker Cancelled My Holiday!

My friend booked a holiday for the two of us through Virgin and took it upon herself to cancel the whole holiday calling me to advise what she had done and that I would lose £120. I have wrote to Virgin explaining that I still wished to go on holiday I had not given permission for my friend to cancel my holiday and I therefore wanted the £120 refunded with my holiday reinstated with an additional friend. They replied saying they only deal with the Lead Booker and that I have to take it up with my friend and Virgin are not responsible
If anyone has been in this situation is it worth a second letter since they haven’t offered to rebook my holiday? I’ve never cancelled a holiday before so this Lead Booker thing is new to me.

It's your friends fault , not Virgins, ask her for the refund.0

As far as I know any changes/cancellations can only be made by the lead name on the booking.
If your 'friend' cancelled this without giving you the opportunity to try and find another person to travel with then I hope you pursue this 'friend' for your £120.0 -
Virgin have done the only thing they possible can in these circumstances.

Hi
I have worked in travel, and any changes to any booking have to be made and signed for by the Lead name. The agent/company cannot discuss any area of the booking with anyone else in the party.
What your friend should have done is sign you over to lead name, so you can make amendments for name changes, then there would not have been any loss of money, except for a small administration fee for a name change.
As she has already cancelled it, there is not much that can now be done. You would have to re-book the holiday and pay another deposit.
Therefore your so-called friend need to refund YOU the deposit, as she lost it, not you!

That's not a nice thing to do by your friend,or is it now "ex" friend.0
