How Dumb can the Government get?

And what would Merv have to say about this? Since the credit crunch he's always been against bank bailouts and reinstating reckless lending. If such a scheme was introduced, I can't see him swallowing this without a heck of a lot of strings attached to the conditions of the swaps.
my concern is that this might be enough to make him wish to retire:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I heard this and my stomach literally dropped this morning. I heard the entirety of the interview, and as ever the governments stance is "this is something we are considering only". Vince cable to his credit is about the only acceptable voice on the economy in UK government ( small g) on the housing market at the moment. the fact that he is in the party least likely to take power is disaapointing- as he will be reported as fringe politicians often are as a weirdo "and this is why they are so unelectable" type comments.
I immeidiately shouted at the radio this is something you should reject outright.
How on earth can the average british taxpayer prop up the banks. We are all under pressure as it is.
My heart is breaking to watch what is happening in the UK over the last twelve months, things really do feel like they are going down the pan. I didnt love tony and couldnt wait for him to move, but dear god, things really have deteriorated massively. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? To those who think a Conservative Government is going to be the knight on the white charger I say one thing - they weren't last time.0

>They know they're going to lose the next election so they're going to fook the economy up so that Tories will have a nightmare tying to sort the mess out.<
Not just the economy, of course. NuLabour's 'scorched earth' policy applies across the board; appointing a 'umin rights zealot as the Director of the Crown Prosecution Service was a recent example. I wonder if his can dry his tears about the 'unfairness' of society long enough to actually charge any of the army of scrotes running amok?

If anyone has been genuinely prudent, I'd keep very quiet. In the coming collapse, being demonised as a 'hoarder' and 'unpatriotic' won't be very pleasant.0 -
I know. There is no way I can vote for the conservatives, there is just something way too murky about them. I wouldnt trust any of them to run a budget for a hospital either, if you thought that labour are in bed with housebuilders and banks, dont let the tories in :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? The saying "If you've got it, flaunt it" was a ditty of the later years of the US 1920s boom.
It doesn't really apply in serious recessions/depressions (unless you want to put yourself at increased risk from the sheeple who've lost out and the general upswing in violence and disorder).
In other news I just found out my conveyancer friend lost his job at a fairly well-to-do firm last week.0
