to do everything for under a grand.

    1. Make your own wedding invites
    2. utelise friends and relatives, ask them to do a simple buffet, will someone be a chauffeur for you with their car, decorate it yourself.
    3. hire a local venue, village hall, bowling club (we hired ours for £60)
    4. Get married at the registry office (we were lucky as ours is in a victorian building)
    5. Make your own flowers or get a talented friend to help.
    6. Shoes - get something cheap you will wear again (mine was £8 sandals from New Look)
    7. Shop around and barter for supplies - Often freecycle is great for picking up odd crafty bits and pieces.
    8. Tesco and other supermarkets often do a great range of cakes suitable for a wedding, or again talk to workmates, friends etc, you might someone willing to do you one as a wedding present.
    9. Ask guests to contribute cash as opposed to pressies to help pay for the wedding/honeymoon.

We got married in October last year for under £1500 but this included the honeymoon. we did all of the above. It can be done! Weddings do not have to cost a fortune to be fantastic and enjoyable.

Good luck and hope you have a fabby day!
