im sure i remember reading that it is possible and (i may be wrong but im so sure its the topic i remember it being on) that they can often prescribe it for still births to make things less traumatic?
now u mention it it would be something i would be interested in as i stopped feeding DD in february and i still get leaks! at least once a week and always from my left boobie0 -
Yes they can as I had some after I decided to stop when my daughter developed huge teeth ! If I remember they were very small tabs and I only took them for a week but you still 'fill up' ( boobs ) and it can be uncomfortable for a day or so, but wear a good fitting bra and it does ease. Years ago my they used to bind them tightly and take Epsom salts to get rid of milk ( my Mum told me to do this but I declined !! ).0

They don't like to prescribe them because they have been known to cause strokes in some women. In my case the milk dried up quickly each time with very little inconvenience.
Read somewhere to drink sage tea and put cabbage leaves in your bra.Barclaycard 3800
Nothing to do but hibernate till spring

I don't know if it will be the same, but my midwife told me to wash and dry cabbage leaves, squoosh them a bit then and place one in each bra overnight in a smaller bran than what you would normally wear. Throughout the day, every few hours. There is something in them which draws everything out. I could not breastfeed for some reason, it was 48 hours since birth and my baby still had not ate
The midwifes were telling me to express milk and spoonfeed?? I got all panicky saying my baby is not eating and went onto formula milk to see what was being drank. Anyway, I had really sore swollen, lumpy mounds and I was crying with the pain. The relief was almost instant and the whole thing only lasted a few days.
HTH and good luck.
P.S The leaves need to be from the fridge.
P.P.S Should have had a look first, but you can google 'cabbage leaves in bra':happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.
If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.

I was given these tablets in 2006 as i was still producing milk from when i finished b/f my daughter in may 2005 (so about 15 months later)
the doc warned me they could lower my blood pressure , and i have low bp already
they made me pass out the next morning and i was almost sick too
so 2 yrs on and i am still milky !! but would rather that than be as ill as i felt after 2 tabletssmoke free since 01/02/09 :Tthanks to all those who've helped0 -
I had these when dd was 4 moths old I had developed bad mastitis and she wasn't getting enough milk they did lower my bp and I was very sick and that was after 1 tablet so I had to stop
dd is 9 next month and I still have milk but it doesn't bother me nowI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

When i stopped feeding my daughter, & wanted my milk to dry up (and it just wouldnt!) My mum told me to bind my boobs- so she got an old sheet, ripped it up & tied it tightly round me & my milk was gone within a day or so.Now im debt free i want to be fat free too!0

I think the boob-binding method is the safest, but you'd have to check with the doctor in case you developed mastitis. I had tablets called ergometrine after I stopped feeding (but this was 25 years ago) - apparently they had a slightly laxative effect. Epsom salts also have a laxative effect, so it's obviously the laxative that does the job.
I wouldn't recommend using anything unless you see a doctor.0
