How would you spend a £10 M&S voucher?

I am on a very tight budget, trying to feed a family of six on next to nothing. I have just received a £10 M&S voucher and wonder what's the best way to use it? Any suggestions welcome.

School clothes for the kids, especially now the M&S 3 for 2 on school clothes is on. The stuff last and lasts.
Their food is far too expensive to consider, especially on a budget and £10 won't go very far on M&S food.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Yeah Id probably save it, put it aside, and use it towards Xmas or birthdaty presents ( wait for sale time obv) A tenner can get a couple of pretty good presents in M&S ( nice cookery books, undies, tops etc).
You dont get the greatest VFM on food, but if you are set on using it for food, thier bread and milk is similar in price to others. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I like their Oakham chickens:D0

M&S have started to do more basic foodstuffs like pasta....or buy kids socks & knickers with it for school?0

My choices in order would be:
1. school clothes or really basic kids clothes like track pants
2. oakham chicken when it's on half price - nice chicken goes further than nasty chicken, and it ends up being really good value
3. advance purchase of christmas or birthday suppliesMortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -
I last used a voucher i had to buy two new bras as mine had the biggest holes in (we are on a very tight budget now too). Underwear for me is one of those things i do not class as priority so i have to wait until they are almost falling off me with holes in.
Usually though, i save the vouchers to spend in the sale after xmas and buy birthday or xmas presents.0 -
Personaly, if the voucher was an unexpected extra, i think i'd buy food treats for the family, but hey thats just me

M&S have now started reducing their food towards the end of the day, so whilst the reductions are not huge, you can pick up some bargains (that can't be the right word whilst talking about m&s)
Milk is comparable in price and they have reduced their packets of wholemeal bread mix in my 2 local ones at least.
The large trays of chicken thighs/legs aren't too pricy.
Or....you could get one of the kids to hang around the checkout and ask someone who is going to buy something if they could buy it off them, then hotfoot it too Lidl/Asda etc to spendthis has happened to me in woolies, but as they didn't have what I wanted I wasn't able to oblige.

We recently received £50 of M&S vouchers and whilst i was all for rushing out and stocking up on food (i lurve their food) hubby bought me back down to earth and we agreed to keep them until Christmas. Either for food or towards presents.
I would save it until you hit a 'tight budget' period, then there is always that £10 to spend or put towards something you may need.
Ps If you can't make up your mind you could always send it to me :rotfl:0 -
if you spend a smaller amount will they give you change in cash? I know I have done this with John Lewis vouchers in Waitrose.weaving through the chaos...0
