Removal Of Question/answer From My Item Page

Can anyone help?

I was contacted by a buyer in reference to an item I am selling. I posted their question/answer on my item page by mistake. They have contacted me again saying their are not happy to have their question there as it states where they live? Help!

I have looked to see if I can take this off my item page but it doesn't look like this is possible. Could someone tell me if it is please.

Thanking you in anticipation.

You can't alter or take off a question (which is silly), what info is on this? if its a full address this plonker is giving it out to a stranger anyway so what difference does it make? tell him to make you an offer to buy this and you will close the listing!! :rotfl:

sorry I will be more helpful now!

This is from the ebay help page:
    Displaying Questions and Answers publicly

If you are asked a question that you think a number of buyers might be wondering about, you can display the answer publicly in addition to the email response. Simply check the checkbox to display question and response publicly and click on the "Submit" button. The 5 most recently added questions and responses will be displayed to the public on the item page. Your response will also be emailed directly to the buyer.

Please note: once the question and response are posted publicly, you will not be able to edit or remove them from the item page. You can display up to 100 public questions and answers on your item page. (Exception: If your listing has a bid and ends within 12 hours, you can't add additional public questions and answers to your item.)

  • Thanks Angel, I had looked around ebay website, deperate as a novice to not go upsetting anyone and could see anyway of dealing with this withdrawal of information. I do appreciate you confirming this for me in their conditions. I didn't really feel that I was giving any private info out - basically just area and christian name given but obviously they felt differently.

I have basically just confirmed to them that nothing can be done in this case, apologized for my mistake, mentioned they were dealing with a complete novice and mentioned if they knew of any way of deleting the question/answer. Don't feel there is anything else I can do. Not prepared to end listing on such a vague amount of info given out. If I had seen any more detailed info on question I would not have posted it.

I am most definately on a vast learning curve. They say you only learn from your mistakes. I probably would be extermely weary of putting any questions/answers on my item pages in future.

Thanks again anyhow. Appreciate your efforts.

Thanks lapat for your suggestion. It can't hurt to try. Cheers.
