  • I was on this until tonight when I switched to a capped tariff - it's still a competitive tariff but my educated guess is that it may not be competitive at the end of this week.....all IMHO of course!

  • I too am on Click Energy 5. I currently pay £63 monthly gas and £53 monthly elec both with BG.

I looked at the capped options but find they are £250 more than what I'm currently paying. So i guess what I'm sitting here trying to work out is at what price does a capped tarrif out weigh a non capped tarrif??

I'd focus more on the percentage as opposed to the actual cash amount, we've already seen EDF put their prices up by 22% and 17%

If the capped/fixed tariff is less than 15% more than what you are paying now you may consider that better than having to go along with whatever you supplier decides to up the prices by.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

I am on click energy 5 with british gas and have just applied for scottish power capped rate which is 15% more - hope I have done the right thing!

    still undecided.
current gas per annum 398.13 british gas
    current electric 360.00 scottish power.
  • I've just swapped from Click 5 to Price Guarantee 2009. I get a 18% price rise from this, but think will still beat the price rise, and expect they'll be more before the end of the year anyway. And the deal is till the end of 2009 as well. Wish I'd done this years ago though!

just been checking energyline, it says once you swap to a capped rate ,if you wish to cancel a fee applies, any idea how much. to people who have just capped

I think that will depend on the supplier - for example if you goto E-On and take their capped until Oct 2009 rate without "free" energy monitor then there is no cancellation fee I believe but if you take the option with the monitor canc fee is £35. Just make sure and read the small print :)
