Mosquito Repellent Plug In (Electric)

I wonder if someone can help please. I was looking to purchase plug in mosquito repellents. I have noted tablet and liquid varieties.

Tablet

Liquid

Are these much of a muchness?

Can anyone recommend a product and a website or a retail outlet (Boots?) which stocks them.

Many thanks for any info provided

Cheers

Instore sell the plug in variety and the refills. Not sure of an exact price but think the plugs were about £2 and refills about £2 for 10.

I have always used these in Portugal and never had a problem. It is worth buying 2 or 3 to distribute around your holiday property.

We have always found that refills can also be readily purchased in most supermarkets abroad too

On our recent trip to Greece we needed a new one of these. We got it in the supermarket in the resort, they are much cheaper. I looked at the ones in the UK and they were all about a tenner. A little Greek shop will sell them for about 4 euros including tablets.

I would agree it's worth getting a couple of them, best time to renew the tablets is early evening.

    Many thanks for your replies.

    >> Shaun_d123, I tried googling Instore but could not find it. Is it online? or a retailer?

    >> MrSmartprice, yes I suspect that they would be much cheaper at the resort as you say but my youngster is very badly affected by mosi bites and if I cannot find them on the evening we arrive and she gets bitten then she will not be very happy. :(

    Cheers

I can tell from experience that both the mat and the liquid versions are much cheaper in India, about 60p each for 30-60 days supply! Bear in mind that they contain harmful chemicals (Allethrin(R)), so over long-term they can cause health problems.
They only seem to work reasonably well if you keep the room closed for first 30-60mins for the vapour to concentrate, then open the windows to let the mosquitos out. So switch them on before you are out for the evening!

just a reply to full-stop. Half of our family is badly bitten the other half don't get any and we use the plug-ins. but what we've started doing is buying a spray can of mosquito/fly killer when we arrive and give a good spray in the wardrobes and bedrooms in patrticular and then close the doors while we go out. I think they do lie in wait in these dark and dingy corners. My hubby also eats marmite as a matter of course and hasn't been bitten for 2 years whereas before he used to get loads. I've heard this mentioned elsewhere
