HELP - UK Holiday Needed 2nd - 9th August!!!

Hi all, am looking for a UK holiday from 2nd - 9th August. Will be for 2 adults, 2 children and an infant - anything considered really although budget for actual accommodation is limited to £400 at the very most - looking to spend less if possible!!!

Kids would be happy with anywhere with a beach, have tried toi find a static caravan but the ones on ebay have all rocketed in price!!

Can anyone help save my holiday??

Pity. I suspect these good value places go really quickly with prebooking from year to year as there are so many which are not such good value.

Might be worth ringing places to see if they will do a deal and try helpfulholidays.co.uk, cornish collection, looe polperro holiday cottages and google cottages in any area you are interested in too -give them your budget and ask if any have any room.

This one is £486 and says available.....can only ask if they would do a deal - if you think it's suitable. In a few weeks time they drop the price to under £300 so they may be up for it if no one has booked for August first week by now. I note it sleeps 4 but is only one bedroom - need to find out where the other beds are. This company also have a couple available in the mid £500's free next week. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a 20-30% discount at this late stage. They can always say no.

You may find less popular holiday spots (like cities) will be cheaper this time of year rather than add the summer premium that the coastal resorts do.

Sleep up to 6, in 3 seperate bedrooms and come with fridge, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle toilet/shower block is right opposite.

No entertainment etc on site, but we stayed there 12th-19th july and it was great as a base to see the area as there are great beaches and little towns, as well as Newquay itself.

We were classed as being "out of season" when we went though and the shop was never open, but it should be when you go, although it was only basic anyway (and the next town was only 5 mins drive away anyway)

Thanks - will take a look - have also noticed that Haven have some late deals but not sure what Haven are like as haven't tried them before.

We got a deal at Haven (blue dolphin) at the start of the school holidays. It was £200 for an 8 berth superior plus for 4 nights, which was a bargain as it included a fun pass (free swimming and entertainment). We too have 2 kids and an infant so I wqould thoroughly recommend it.

Try Hoseasons. It's often cheaper than Haven

You could always try finding a private rental on Marine Park in Rhyl. It's not too bad there, has the basics like pool, kids disco etc. Their website is quoting about £430 for that week but I bet you could get a last minute private rental a whole lot cheaper.

Hi there.

After recently going through the same thing as you - trying to find a cheap-ish caravan in the school holidays, (though we are looking for the week after you) have realised that Haven (normaly very good) have reduced their prices a little the last few weeks.

Hoseasons are a bit cheaper, though don't always have as much for children going on, and seem to be selling out quick.

I have a discount code for both Haven and Hoseasons, though you have to phone them. I have them as a benifit through my workplace. Have only tried Haven and they do gove 10% off the current online price.

If you want any of the codes you could pm me. It does say can be used by friends and family.

10% is better than nothing, and Haven is very good - where I have been is anyway!!

There are always cottage holidays. We are going to Cumbria this year for a nice, cheap relaxing break (think walking and picnics ).
