To cut a long story short... (ish)...
18 months ago, took out a contract with vodafone, also took one out for my girlfriend as she has never had any kind of loan/overdraft/mortgage etc for credit rating purposes... so they wouldn't let her have a contract phone (yes, lame i know)
So i paid both our contracts since then, and then the other week Phones4U started calling saying my contract came to an end next month, and therefore was i interested in extending my deal. I said no, because i was looking to cut back the cost of calling... but eventually went with a rather good deal on Orange with a shiny new mobile... (see other thread)... The girlfriend is now able to get her own phone, so everything is excellent. The chap on the phone informed me i'd still have one month left to run on my contract, which i was more than happy to honour.
Phoned Vodafone today, and it turns out the lousy lying scumbags told a bunch of fibs on the phone in order to get me to sign up for a new contract. (i'd actually questioned it when they said 'one month left to run' and they assured me they were right)... and my contract runs for a further TWO months... Vodafone want £190 to wrap up the two contracts...
Needless to say i phoned Phonies4U and they are going to 'listen back to the original call' to see if i was misled (which i was... why would i take out two new contracts when if i knew i still had to pay two months on an existing one??)... they say they'll give me a cheque for the amount if it turns out i'm telling the truth, can't help but think they're going to claim their phone records show i was properly informed... and i'll have no way of proving otherwise....
Not chuffed. I'll report back once the annoyingly calm woman phones me back tomorrow with the 'results of her investigation'... IE: whitewash

Reason 101 why P4U are being investigated. Is it possible for you to request a copy of the conversation under DPA?My farts hospitalize small children0 -
phones4u did similar to me.
They phoned me to offer a new deal. I wasn't interested at 1st as had a few months left outstanding on my old contract and didn't wish to change my number. Lady offered good tarriff, £100 cash back, and to keep old number. I clarified with her at least 6 times that I could def keep number as wasn't convinced.
So when I received a vodofone bill with 2 mobile numbers I new I'd been duped. phoned p4u and complained so much that they agreed (at my suggestion) that they would recall the message. it took 6 weeks, and then they advised me that find they couldn't recall them. It then took another 2 weeks to get them to agree to reimburse me as the contract had to be paid off.
I've now had full payment apart from the vat element as they can't seem to get there head around that bit. I had final payment in July and I was mis sold last october. So you can see why I really can't be arsed to chase the rest (the vat)
The only payback is vote with your feet, and tell everyone you know how Cr*P they are.Started comping September. wins so far.
:rotfl: 2 concert tickets, £30 swan instant, 2 grolsh glasses, Peroni ice bucket, £5 Esprit Voucher, 2 x bowtime, 2 night hotel stay, October 4 x bowtime (I so want that fridge), £10 voucher, Tickets to ballet, Dirty Dancing Tickets, loaf of hovis :rotfl:0 -
Phones 4 u told my Mum a pack of lies to get her to take out a contract; Fabricating a minutes/texts deal that Orange had never offered.
She got a refund eventually, after several phone calls and a lengthy discussion with the store manager.
It is worth pursuing to the end. Good luck!
