Average watts = £ per year
It's a rule of thumb equation you can use to gauge running costs for an electrical appliance (assuming current 11-12p per kwh). A PC left on running at 100W (conservative estimate) 24/7 would cost you around £100 a year. Use it for a quarter of every day and it costs you a quarter of that (£25). Thank rising energy costs for making it that easy.
