orchid dialler and incorrect time

Hi, ive had my orchid dialler for a while now, and when i make a call at 6.02 or today 6.03 it didnt route calls through my calls provider as its supposed to, it still thought it was before 6pm and routed through 18185.

I dont have a power supply with the orchid dialler, but surely the dialler cant loose that much time can it ?

I always 'dial home' to correct the time on my orchid, but that doesnt seem to make any difference.

I always have to leave it until 6.06 to be sure that the call is routed correctly.

does anyone else have the same problems ?

thanks

Forcing home picks up the time from Orchid's server and that should be accurate to within a few seconds.

Alternatively, you could just set the time precisely yourself using the manual procedure.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Thanks Heinz, i do 'force home' but it seems to loose time after a while.

I've noticed similar, almost as if it loses seconds over a set amount of time, I couldn't work out any logic on how long it should be between force homes. Think the manual reset looks the best option every couple of weeks

I have one without a power supply and it does drop quite a lot of time. It can be a day or so out sometimes. I now have the orchid 'phone home' number programmed into my phone and dial it at least once a week, usually before the weekend to ensure weekend calls are routed correctly. That seems to work well. Make sure you make the call after 6pm or at the weekend so it's free though, I discovered it was a chargeable call on my primus bill otherwise.
