I switched to npower for my gas supply on 16/05/08, stayed with scottish power for my electricity supply but changed my tarrif around the end of May. Now I hear it is time to switch due to energy price hikes and looking on the comparison sites i will be worse off by £228.00 if i switch back to scottish power for dual fuel on their "ScottishPower Online
Fixed Price Energy 2009 Online No Standing Charge" which will be better than if i stay as i am an the companies hike up their prices like EDF.

Can I switch from Npower? and change tarrif with Scottish power, when I have only had these accounts for a couple of months?

help

At the beginning of July i switched from E.On to EDF- just before the price hike! The change hasn't even gone through yet but doing a search on all the comparison sites and following Martin's advice, I'd like to switch again to a capped tariff. The sites are advising to switch to 'Scottish Power Fixed Price energy 2009 Online NSC Dual Fuel' from EDF.
Can I switch again before the original switch has even happened?!
If not, do i have to wait for a specific period of time?
The problem being the fixed/capped rates will all be gone by then!

I received a letter from Npower giving me 14 days to change my mind 11th April and the change took place 16th May, best see if you have a similar letter and maybe your still within the "change your mind" time frame.

I dont wanna seem ungrateful but I havent had the response I hoped for, therefore after seeing Martin on GMTV this morning I have decided to bite the bullet and switch. Can I go through quidco and will I get cashback? I received cashback when I switched my gas from Scottish Power to NPower, but can I apply to switch to Scottish Power (whom I am already with for electric) for a dual fuel account?

Am not an expert at capping, Nicky, so couldn't address your issue.
However am aghast at your yearly expense.
Are there savings to be made other than Quidco and capping.??

I and the family are bad when it comes to tv. we also have the pc on 24/7, and leave appliances on standby, having kids means lights generally get left on also. I vow to start turning things completely off! I use electricity for cooking, pc, tv, and other items. Gas is used for heating and hot water. I have the above figures from the 12 months upto jan 08, we had a bad summer last year if you remember therefore heating and electricity costs (due to drying clothes etc) where probably higher than norm. Our household (4 bedroom insulated and double glazed) 3 adults, 2 children and 1 baby under 1,
