Save on cleaning costs. Windows. Cars etc

Hi all.

I would like some feedback on an idea I have turned into a prototype product that would dramatically cut costs on outside cleaning around the house and also vehicles, caravans etc. The best thing about it is that your only cleaning material would be rain water that you have collected in things like water butts.

You would be able to use it and clean your windows as well as any window cleaner without having to use any ladders. It would all be done from the ground. It would also be great for cleaning conservatory roofs, greenhouses, any UPVC such as soffits and fascias etc bringing them up to a very high standard of finish. You would also be able to clean any vehicle to a spotless finish with no drying off or chamoising etc. Remember also that all of it would be done from the safety of the ground with no ladder climbing.

There would be a lot more uses but no need to go into full details. I have worked on this product for quite some time and have patented it. It is very "green" by nature and requires no chemicals either.

The cost to clean all the windows including the frames on an average 3 bed semi would be less than 5 pence and less than 2 pence to clean a car. Caravan again less than 5p and conservatory roof around the same.

I have calculated the average savings per household per year to be approx £400.00 and of course a big advantage is the environmental factor.

I have already carried out quite a bit of market research which has been positive but would really appreciate any more feedback before investing much more into production.

I can't give any more details of the product itself because of non disclosure agreements I have in place but it is very easy to use and very well designed for home use.

The total cost of setting up including a decent water butt would be around £100.00. This isn't some "nutty proffesor" invention. It really does work and could be used by anyone without major physical restrictions.

Many thanks foir reading this.

Any feedback on whether or not it would be something you would consider buying would really be appreciated.

I'm not on a water meter so i could just use a pressure washer that has a billion and one other uses too. Oh and a pressure washer can be attached to pretty much any reservoir of water. Water butt pumps plus garden hose would also serve the same purpose.

How big a water butt would one need for all that cleaning ...bearing in mind your target market is likely to be the same as those already using water butts for garden watering. There is only so much water one can harvest and store.

From a money saving point of view to buy a device like yours wouldn't be worth it for me as even if the running costs are negligible it would probably take a good few years to recoup the cost of the device. But when water metering becomes compulsory for us then the running costs might make your device more appealing.
