Hello first and foremost long time reader first time poster.
I got my license back and got myself a cheap(ish) car to insure third party fire and theft. When I was speaking to the call centre they were asking about my driving history. I mentioned I had been driving for three years on my fathers policy (as named driver) prior to my ban. Come renewal time they have sent me a certificate for 4 years no claims obviously a mistake when entering details!
What to do? Do I go ahead and get quotes on the 4 years certificate or be honest and get quotes for two years no claims?
The three years extra no claims save me about 500 a year off fully comp!
What would you do and is there any chance I will get caught?

I would strongly suggest double checking, some companies do allow named drivers to earn their own no claims, however, if you know this is incorrect and were still to go ahead and use it - come time to make a claim, your insurers would be within their rights to turn the claim down if they felt you'd lied.

Just to say we have had a kind of similar situation as in we have had NCB added that we haven't earned.
When we first got 2 cars we called our current ins co and as a good will gesture they matched full NCB from car 1's policy onto car 2's policy. When renewal time came we got the renewal notices for both cars. We fully expected car 2 to have just 1 yr NCB but the proof said both cars had 5+ yrs NCB.
We immediately called up the previous co and they said that if that's what the proof said we could use it!
Anyway, when I started calling round for quotes I explained the situation about car 2 and they said it was fine, if we could prove 5+ yrs then that's all they were interested in.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
