i recently was in turkey on holiday and i use my nationwide debit card.
i made 6 transactions whilst there 4 for apprx £200 1 for £100 and 1 for £80,all the transactions were taken from my account apart from the very first one this was on the 1st of july for just over £200 in local currency i dont generally leave much money in this account it is only used for holidays and ebay transactions.
what is the length of time when nationwide can still take this from my account.
there were other transactions from the same machine that have gone out from my account.
now i know some will say phone nationwide and tell them, well maybe i should but i dont think they would phone me if they took too much money so i will pass on that.
any info will be great.
thanks ragjoy...............................

I think you're being a bit harsh on Nationwide. A year or so ago I my wife tried to withdraw some Euros in Spain - the transaction went through but no cash came out. I didn't notice this - my wife didn't tell me details of all the withdrawals she had made, and I just assumed that it was a valid cash withdrawal when I saw it appear in the account. A few days later a "correction" credit appeared on the account. I queried it with Nationwide and they told me it was a refund of the aborted transaction.
Anyway, I'm sure the missing transaction will come through to your account eventually, whether you phone them or not. I don't know if there is a fixed time limit but I've had debit card transactions come through to the account 2 months after the transaction - and that was in the UK.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
It's up to six years that a merchant can process a transaction, so I'd keep the money in the account otherwise it'll push you overdrawn and you'll get hit with the associated charges.0

Ragjoy.
I can't quite understand what you're saying here. On one hand you think that dishonesty is ok if you benefit. But on the other you say that dishonesty is not ok if you are the victim.
Maybe Nationwide won't bare the financial loss, but someone certainly will. That money has to have come from somewhere.
Now I know that not everyone in this world is honest and so you are far from alone, but I find it somewhat odd that you come onto a public forum and openly declare it!0 -

I suggest that you contact Nationwide and ask them to arrange an overdraft facility on your flex account. That way, you can keep the 200 pounds somewhere earning interest until it gets 'posted' to your Flex account. I suggest that Nationwide e-saver, which provides a decent rate of interest and offers instant on-line transfers to the Flex account. That way, once the 200 pounds is charged to you there will be no overdraft fee, and if you transfer the money in to cover it the same day the interest they would charge you would be less than a penny, and so effectively nothing.
If the money has still not been charged by Christmas time, you might like to let Nationwide know about the mistake: or you might just forget.0
