Not only do The Book People offer great prices on the books etc in their catalogue, but they have fantastic customer service.
When I made an order on-line a week ago, I somehow managed to arrange to have it delivered to my son's school address rather than our home address. On reflection I did have some books delivered to him at school and that address must have been the last one I had used. By the time I had figured out my mistake and telephoned the call centre my order had gone into the system and the details could not be easily changed.
A brilliantly helpful and polite lady gave me her name and extn number and then went on to put everything right. Cancelling the order, re-entering the order, calling me back to confirm everything and then on top of that sending it out on next day delivery at no extra charge. I obviously caused some difficulties and upset their very streamline system but it was very refreshing to find someone both willing and able to put themselves out to help a customer and to do it with a pleasant attitude.
They get five stars from me!

We get books delivered to the office from the book people, they leave them for a week and we can order them if we like. Bought a cook book before through them and other people have bought various things, always nice and cheap

I was just going to start a new thread about the book people, but see i'm not alone in being impressed by their customer service. I recently had a problem and the lady who handled my query at their customer service dept was so helpful and kept me informed what was happening, she rang when she said she would and quickly resolved it...well done :T0

They are very friendly people and come to our work which is very convienient. Unfortunately despite the good prices I don't normally find much I'd like to read - not really much for the literary end of the market - not that I'm a snob....0
