Switching to Scottish Power? Cashback increased - for one week!

Options
Hi all,

I've seen on Topcashback and Quidco that they've both increased the cashback for anyone switching to Scottish Power - to £72 for a dual fuel switch.

I see on Topcashback that it's only until August 4th, so better move quickly. Apart from the fact that Scottish Power may pull their fixed prices, the cashback discount may disappear too...

Good luck - happy switching! :)
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...

Just switched with Quidco and received only £62 - not happy icon8.gif. (Site clearly stated £72).
AMENDMENT: An extra tenner has just been added onto my quidco acct. :)

Email scottish power asking for the application u submitted on saturday to be cancelled then reapply via a cashback site, clear your cookies before u visit the cashback site. ;)

I have been a Sainburys Energy customer (for many years) which is just a front for Scottish Power. The rates and products I have for my Sainsburys contract use are the same as SP's rates and products. As a side to this Sainburys now use EDF for their Energy products.

Would I get the cashback if I moved to Scottish Power entirely?

Have asked the question to Quidco but no response.

    Cheers

hi,......i see on quidco when you click through it says......Cashback will not be paid for energy retention sales.......what does this mean?does this mean cashback will not be paid for capped duel fuel applications or am i being thick lol

Typical I did a electricity switch, seen only £31 in Quidco, so I lose out on a fiver. Ah well you win some you lose some!

It means you won't get cashback if you are already a Scottish Power customer...hence my question as I am a Sainsburys Energy customer (Sainsburys used to use Scottish Power but now EDF - as I am a old customer my energy still comes from Scottish Power via Sainburys energy).

So question is, am I a retention or new customer if I go thorugh Quidco and move to Scottish Power??

    Cheers

If u are on a SP tariff then u are a Scottish Power customer, nothing to stop u switching to say BG or EON getting a cashback via a cashback site and then after a few months switching back to SP again via a cashback site and getting another cashback, just see it as saving up for future price increases. ;)

I thought you have to be with scottish power for a year and if you leave within that time you have to pay a penalty of £30 & £20 for gas and electric if you are on the capped tariff
