Thanks for posting. The only cases I could recall reading on this board, where there was a successful outcome (and none were recent), involved cards issued by MBNA, like your wife's Virgin.
Fingers crossed the Op's £1500 surplus is on an MBNA card then. MBNA has a reported 7 million customers in the UK, so you never know.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
