British Gas Capped Question

I applied today on their website for the capped until 2009 Tarriff. They said on the phone it might take 6-8 weeks to swap over from Npower (my existing supplier).
If the British Gas prices go up in the next couple of weeks will I be stung or now I've started the ball rolling am I immune from any price rises from today?
