Thunderbird query

I have recently installed Thunderbird on my laptop and have been able to send and receive mail from home without a problem, however, when I am on the network in the office running through an exchnage server and firewall, my outgoing mail using Thunderbirs does not go out.

As an easy fix, I use the outlook web access function from btconnect, and send mail via a web page. When I arrive home I would like to sychronise the sent mail folder with Thunderbird so that I have a copy of the mail I sent, however I cannot find how to do this. It only seems to sync the Inbox.

Help me please

Can you collect your incomming mail at the office?

I think you need to change your outgoing server when at the office. Your ISP is probably blocking you, though you could try adding a user/password combo for the outgoing mail server.
  • Yes I can receive mail, it is just outgoing mail that is the problem. I tried copying the error message into google groups to see what the problem was, and it came back with a suggestion that our Anti Virus wasthe issue, I tried turning that off and it still wouldn't work.

In any event I will be changing jobs soon, hence using the web access tool, I just want to sync that sent folder with Thunderbird when I get home.

    Any thoughts are welcome
  • sorted!!!!

Moved all my sent emails to the online inbox and then hit send receive. Once in my Thunderbird inbox, I put them in my sent folder
