Parcel couriers......aghhhhh!!!!!

Just got home and noticed a 'We have tried to deliver card' in my porch.... with 'left in bin' written on it. My wheelie bin had just been emptied this morning and the lazy sod of a delivery driver had dropped my parcel in it!! As you can imagine, it was covered in 7 kinds of ****... and I had to turn the bin on its side to get it out. How unhygienic!!! Why couldn't he have left it with my neighbour or in my unlocked porch???

I have contacted Business Post, the courier, and made a complaint. The man on the other end of the line, said it would be logged and investigated, as it was a case of gross misconduct. Now I feel guilty, I don't want anybody possibly getting the sack.... just for them to show a little more care.

  • I have had this before and I also complained (can't remember the name of the company, it was a long time ago). The couriers are apparently told not to put packages in bins, which makes sense because the company don't want to have to compensate customers when the package gets taken away with the rubbish! I think you are absolutely right to complain, otherwise how can you be sure it won't happen again, to you or someone else? I don't think they would just sack someone for this, but they should give them a talking to and perhaps a warning. Hopefully they won't do it again after that.

Argh, thats horrible! I dont think i would want the parcel once it has been in the bin!!!! If he'd put it in the little newspaper recycling bin, then fine, but in a proper bin...YUK!!! And why not just knock next door and leave it with them! Although, that wouldnt always be good either, i mean, were not always lucky enough to have nice neighbours are we!!

Weldone for complaining, he wont get the sack, he'll just be told the rules and procedures and given a slap on the hand.

  • Don't worry about him being sacked, these companies are so despaerate for staff they don't always even sack them for stealing first time.
