  • Indeed I would. My husband has 2 bikes . The dual he uses for off roading and a front suspension only for road biking. It depends on what you will mainly be using it for.

    thanks :j

well id just be useing it to go on the country lanes to get to work....& maybe across the odd feild,
  • KVG,

Suspension is down to comfort vs effort. The more suspension a bike has (none vs front only vs dual) the more it weigh's and if cheap (under £800 for a dual) the less efficient your pedaling will be (some of the pedals effort will just go into the suspensions spring).

So if your after max comfort and aren't planning too many hill climbs it doesn't matter a hoot road or not road go for dual (I have a pretty decent front suspension bike and the potholes in the road near me would need a dual I can tell you!).

But to be honest front suspensions normally enough to deal with most things...

    thanks E.M...

well im not that bothered about comfort really, just as long as its a bit comfy ...but not if its a bone shaker :rotfl:

i think ill just buy a front suspension bike... as there cheaper ;).

also is it easy to asemble a bike please?...

    thanks
  • thanks for all the advice  :j

    been a great help ;)
  • Assembling a bike....

It does depend on what they've done. If they're anything like the ones I've seen they'll have taken off the front wheel, pedals and saddle, possibly the handlebars?

Of those the pedals are fairly easy (you might need a very thin spanner), seat very easy (an allen key). Front wheel - very easy.

BUT... you'll probably need to adjust the brakes (normally v brakes) and this can be a pain. Take a look here or here for some tips. Looks simple, but on cheap v brakes getting the fine adjustment right can be fiddly.

You might enquire at your local bike shop who may help you put it together for a small sum....

  • My bikes from PB came with everything on it except the saddle and the pedals. As EM has said, the brakes will need adjusting ;)
