" CD drive G:\ not accessible PROBLEMS????

My CD drive is G:\

It has worked up until recently. Now when I double click the icon I get the message:-

" CD drive G:\ not accessible
incorrect function "

If I try to drag and drop files onto the CD drive icon within MY COMPUTER. I will receive the same message.

I am using Windows XP.

Have you got any ideas???

go to device manager

and uninstall the drive

then reboot and let it reload itself

if it does not show up there then its probaly bust

might be worth opening the side ad checking the cables are connected properly
