Broadband Connection Problems

Madasafish has been my ISP for 3 years now and I moved house 2 months ago. It took a couple of weeks to transfer but connection was fine until I had a problem which was due to the microsoft/zonealarm security patch balls up.

I use a Netgear DG834G wireless router.

I have been away on holiday for a week and got back yesterday. It took me an hour to connect yesterday. I tried a different wired router but that didn't work and it was only after switching the netgear router on and off a number of times that it worked. Basically the 'i' symbol on the router was flashing amber rather than the usual solid green.

Connected fine this morning but when trying this afternoon I incurred the same problem. Finally got on after numerous attempts.

Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Thanks

Do the usual , disconnect all devices apart from router on phone line and also swap the microfilter, other than that a line fault

I realise that thanks, it is a thread I contribute to frequently. My question on this board was more in relation to the router and the flashing amber 'i' symbol. Now I have an answer I will contact MAAF with my query.

Am I right in assuming you having downloaded the patch for the Microsoft/Zonealarm bug?
