Nonsense your customer,s pay a premium rate to phone your 0844 revenue sharing number. Its not included in inclusive minutes and its dearer to call from mobiles.
Your customers effectively pay for your Free? Switchboard facility.

Well I am very sorry for trying to help and offer an alternative that would save the OP money!

As I do not want to mislead my customers I have checked the rates - (also I certainly DO NOT profit from this line) - the reply was:

The cost to call a 0844 numbers is 4.2p plus VAT from a BT land line. I'm not sure, but I believe it's called a local rate.

    0871 is 10p 0870 is 6.8p.

Using a non geographical number is not the flavour of this month or any other month. Martin MSE is in fact a sponsor of the www.saynoto0870.com site which covers all ngn,s.

Thanks for that, I understand that, but as the op said cost was a factor, this was a low cost alternative for the op ie the small business, - only the op can choose what is right for their business after they have their required information

I certainly would not use premium rate numbers, but did not realise that 0844 was not included in calling plans , so I do apologise for that,
  • you can get a VOIP number with a local code.

I use http://www.localphone.com and the call can be picked up on a N95 Nokia free of charge (or similar internet enabled / skype phone) if you are home with a wireless nework (the call runs through the web)

It diverts to a standard mobile or a landline if you prefer.
    baldly going on...

Are you sure you have correct domain name. They appear to be a cheap call supplier who will give you a local number pointed at your destination but you can only call it yourself from a number registered by yourself, and you cant divert.
  • Have faith in the bald one
Get a real number anywhere in the UK for free!

    http://www.localphone.com/availability/united_kingdom

    Click on the VOIP tab

You set up an account (free)
    pick a local DID number
Use this to recieve calls- free to pick up on a voip phone with an ATA (or a Nokia N95 with wifi) otherwise <10p per min diversion to a real mobile- cheaper then BT

They also do cheap calls - I called relatives in the states for >13min yesterday for <10p
    baldly going on...
