Honda Accord Engine Warning Light

MINMOUSE

The engine warning light on my Honda came on on Thursday. Took it to the local Honda Dealer who told us we needed oil topped it up and turned off light after doing check.
However DH has just come back with the car and said that the car engine jolted again and the warning light it back on.

Am going to phone Honda tomorrow but should I have to re pay for the exact same engine check that I paid for on Friday?? Also any suggestions what might be wrong, engine fluid etc fine.
Thanks

Rare for a Honda to put a warning light on to be honest. However, it may be the EGR valve as we have done 2 of these in the last month or so.

Be aware that the Accords from 2003 use loads of oil, to the point where I know of several people who have had complete engine failure...!

Fluids all have theor own warning lights.

Another (rare) thing to go on a Honda is the air and fuel mixture ratio. They seem to get cocked up every now and then.

This morning DH took car back to Honda dealer - he put it through comp test ( again) and told us we need Valve Assy Spool for the VTEC engine. They can not get it till September. Came home phoned another Honda garage to see if they could get part sooner ( about 40 miles away) they said that they have never heard of this part failing and are wondering if it something else. Honda dealer here says car safe to drive till part comes in Sept - I am confused . The guy that we normally deal with for our car and trust to bits is on a long term holiday abroad and we can not contact him. Can anyone help??
