Railcard? is this correct?

My son and his mate will be traveling from Wigan to Stafford on monday and returning on friday. I have checked the virgintrain website for tickets and the price is £25.70 return per person (without railcard) £21.35 (with railcard).
I filled in the quotation form and put 2 adults traveling and 1 railcard (between them) and it came back with the price of £21.35 each. If they had 2 railcards (1 each) it would be £17.00 per person return.
Are these quotes correct? and are they available to buy at the station or is it an online offer?
please help.

£25.70 is correct. The first £21.35 is incorrect - it should be £17 (£16.95 if you are being picky).

The remainder of the figures are correct.

You can buy at these fares at the station on the day.

Thanks Stompa, maybe im not making myself clear.
Im not thinking about purchasing a railcard, my sons mate already has a 16 - 25 railcard. Just wondering if he could purchase both return tickets using his railcard to get discounts for both, eg, £42.70 (for 2) rather than £21.35 (with railcard) and £25.70 (without railcard) and would he be able to do this at the station rather than online?

No. A YP railcard requires each traveller in receipt of a discounted ticket to have a card.

The disabled person's railcard does allow two travellers to travel at the discounted rate. I'm not aware that any of the others do (apart from obviously the family card!)?
    Gone ... or have I?

My son doesnt have a railcard, his mate does. its showing as £21.35 for 2 people outward journey and £21.35 for 2 people return journey total of £42.70 using just one railcard.

A 16-25 railcard is valid for one person only.

It assumes that all travellers have a card. You will need to book the two tickets separately.

That's right - one passenger is travelling at the full rate (£25.70 return) and the other at the railcard rate (£17 return)

thats helped, lol, i must have been having a thickie moment!
Because the prices where in total for the outward journey and total for the return journey rather than individual eg 2 x outbound and 2 x return
