If you don't get the job, then it is their loss and they don't deserve you. And it wasn't meant to be. More opportunites will come your way. If you do get it, then what a great company choosing you!

Re the 'Bint' - well, she now has the socks to wash, his snoring to put up with and the hairs sprouting from his nose (he may not have them but we can dream..). The 'Bint' has been having the nice side of him so far, now the 'Bint' will be experiencing the other side, leaving loo seat up, throwing dirty under pants on the floor and the snoring and the nose hair. He may even start picking his feet to add to the romance.. Or farting in bed and shouting at the 'Bint' - "I've spat at the ceiling" , so she dives under the covers....

    Remember - you can't panic if laughing x x x

PS bet you can think of a few things that the 'bint' has to put up with now!

Buy her books and read and re-read and re-re-read them until the advice in them is second nature. You won't be cured. You won't need to be. She'll give you the tools to not worry.

I remember her books etc - takes me back a few years.

Glad you are doing ok now.

I know the source - finding out ex had moved his bint into our joint house two days after I moved out - coupled with losing my job that same weekend!

I'm calm now, sounds pathetic, doesn't it - but I get really shaky and start kind of hyperventilating, but I'm okay now.
Well something to think about. No matter what you do you cannot alter what has happened so there is no point getting stressed as you are the one who gets hurt.
Make a list of all the good things ie you can watch what you want on the telly or you can find a real bloke who is much better. Having done that sit in your favourite chair and stare at a point on the ceiling. Rerally focus on it and when your eyes get tired take a deep breath and just allow yourself to completely relax as you close your eyes. Spend a few mins just floating deeper and deeper as you think about sometyhing you really like eg a tropical beach. Then visualise tomorrow how you would like it to be ie you happy meeting friends, everything going well etc. Spend as long as you like doing this and watch the attacks melt away.
Come back later and thank me:D

A good meditation techinique. I used to have trouble on visualising the beaches and could get fixated on the nose hair instead.... :o

A few others have recommended Claire Weeks- her books are great. I found this site a while back- http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk. It's really helpful.

Oh Alyth have a dodgy hug :grouphug: :EasterBun and some mad chocolate. I know from your other posts you've had the rug pulled from under you this past while. No real advice but you have a clean slate now, no ties, just think how lucky you are, you can do whatever you want now, run away and save the manatees (is that whats in your avatar sorry if I'm wrong?) start up a beach bar on a Caribbean island ANYTHING. Take your time no rash decisions but is there something you've really wanted to do but couldn't because of work , your ex etc etc.
Oh blimey it's late and I'm wittering sorry. Just wanted to wish you well. A lot's happened and it has to be processed somehow. The panicking is just your way of dealing with it. I find a long soak in the bath with candlelight and my fav music very relaxing soothing. That won't cure the attacks but relaxation will help you a wee bit.

    The world is your oyster..

You'll look back on this and be glad that you didn't become a nose hair trimmer and washer of ungrateful s*ds socks.

Get a job that you would love to do and buy yourself a sports car - but not an MG (headgasket prone).

Who needs a man anyway? Ann Summers is great and the products don't answer back nor throw their laundry at you. :D

    Smile..... it'll help....

I know many others have mentioned her already, but I'd also highly recommend Dr Claire Weekes books and audio tapes.

I happened upon one of her books in a library many years ago while I was a student (That was when I first started having panic attacks/severe anxiety) and without exaggerating, I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found her book, as the Drs I went to see really weren't all that able to help me.

Even now, I still find myself going back to her books and re-reading them.

[I didn't know she had a uk website, thanks endure :)]

I can't tell you how much your posts mean to me, I really can't - I don't want to sound pathetic, but it's so nice to read your messages of support.

Well, one thing has turned out okay - I got the job! Got the call at 5pm tonight saying I was successful, just £1K less than I was on, but it's at least half an hour closer than my old job, and I think it's going to be much better than the job I had! My work is really important to me, so getting this job means so much to me, it means I can get back into a routine, but also that I'm now earning so can plan things like saving the manatees (totally right Violetta!) and starting my studying, I'm much more motivated when I get in from work and just have to get on with things.

I looked at Claire Weeks' briefly last night and will look properly at the weekend, thanks so many of you for recommending her to me. I've also booked myself in for a session of meditation/NLP type of thing on Friday night - I want to learn more of this sort of thing, as I'm sure in the future I will come up against things that will upset or panic me, and I want to learn how to deal and cope with worrying and panicking.

Jeannieblue, I love your posts, you're right in that I now think that I have my own place, a good job, my dog, and when the house sells and I get the money I'm going to buy an Audi TT - I've always wanted one of those, and I can start planning to go back to China now to save my pandas as well!

Thanks everyone, I'm so pleased to have got this job, it's like a massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders, but I want to ensure that I don't get attacks in the future, so your advice and posts have just been wonderful - some have made me laugh, some have made me think, and some are going to make me spend money now!

Alyth - off now to have a glass of wine and a bar of chocolate!
