Do Thai airways release blocks of seats ?

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for reading, i'm hoping to go to Thailand at the end of the year, I know its a popular time of year to go, so i'm keen to get a good deal on the plane ticket. When i've been to Thailand before i've normally managed to get a good deal on a direct flight with Thai airways, i'd like to go with them again because the direct flight is a lot less hassle, and despite the pretty cheesy movies the service is always good.
My question is - i've been searching the internet and there doesn't seem to be any flights from Thai on any of the search engines, mostly the middle eastern carriers with a stopover. I have heard that Thai release their seats in blocks, and was just wondering if anyone knew if this was on the horizon as if it is i'm happy to wait but otherwise i'd like to buy a ticket asap to make sure they don't go up even more!!
Any advice would be most gratefuly recieved.
Many thanks,
Stuart

If you cannot find seats, it is because the aircraft is full, bookings start 330 days out and for Christmas, many flights are full by Easter. Not sure what dates you are looking for but on their own website there are still seats available, for Dec 23 returning 16 January but cost is over £1000, including over £300 taxes and fuel surcharges. The same flights with, for example Airline Network, are on their site at £929, so the seats are there, just a high price!0

The only possible help you will get in extra seats being released is if vast swathes of the flight are being held 'provisionally', and any non-ticketed seats get cancelled (and then re-released 30 days before departure) - and then 30 days before the return.
But I wouldn't rely on this, ever, for Xmas & NY, book soon, book early. In fact if you advise dates on here, some nice people might find you good value flights.0 -
Thanks for the advice, i'm not normally one to go away over xmas / new year but my company has recently told us we're closing over the xmas -> new year break so i'd like to take advantage of an extended break.
The dates i'm actually looking for would be to fly out on the 26th December 2008 and return on the 18th January, I would like to go earlier but I don't think my family would speak to me again. Any suggestions on cheap flights would be most gratefully recieved.0
