Hello all,
I am having a problem when opening new windows in IE. Whenever I open up a new window in IE, whether it's a link or simply opening up a new page, it takes a very long time. Does anyone know what I can do about it? It didn;t used to be like this-it used to open up instantly.
Thanks

Install firefox or opera. What version of IE are you using?0

Could be some spyware or a virus.
One thing to check is the Internet Explorer Add-ons.
(In IE 7) Go to Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons.
Disable all the options that you don't think should be there. Post here if you're not sure.
This should speed up IE's loading time.0 -
How much memory have you got in your PC? Just repaired a laptop where the user was getting so sick of waiting they punched the screen and broke it. One fresh install of Windows later and it does what yours is doing once all the drivers and updates were installed. Its only got 256MB in it. Just ordered another 1GB from Crucial for the grand total of £15.50. It'll fly once that's in.0

Wow! This helped so much! THANKS!
I know it's an old thread, but this helped too much to ignore.
It used to take 10 seconds to open a new window. Now it takes about 1 or 2 max.
Disable EVERY add-on except Java - that's what I did. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
(And for the usual people who say "Install Firefox or Opera" - this is not always possible, for example in my case it's a work PC and those applications are not allowed). You're spelling is effecting me so much.
