New windows and Pointing which one 1st

I need new windows at the front of my house, but it also needs pointing and rendering.
The house was originally built without anything supporting the two rows of bricks above the bedroom windows, and the bricks now look a bit loose above one window. I am worried about them coming out if I have windows fitted first.
The top half of the house below the first two rows of bricks is rendered and the rest is brick.
If I did put new windows in first would they get wrecked when the pointing and rendering gets done?
Or would I be better off putting them in after and touching up the pointing/rendering if it gets disturbed?
Just wondering what others would do.

WHen the old windows are removed you will get some idea of what is (or isn't) supporting the bricks. At that point you will see if you need to sort out the support problem first, before you touch the bricks.
When the professionals take out the old windows they will support the site, so I wouldn't worry about the bricks falling out.
If its as bad as you describe, it may be that a lintel is missing.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
