Don't know how I am going to make 20 quid last 4 weeks....
I was in exaclty this situation last month MissPin - £78 down on the 4th of July. But with lots of help from this board - and sheer bloodymindedness! - I came in £3.01 below budget. My fridge/freezer/cupboards were bare at the end of it but it can be done! So keep your spirits up - you can do it.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Hi
Can you freeze mascarpone ? If not has anyone got any recipes with mascarpone in (ideally that you can freeze ?)
Don't want to throw it but it will be out of date by the time we return from hols.
Feeling lousy today, should be excited about hols but am just stressed!
Thanks x
PS Today was a GC NSD (did spend £2.50 but that was on a bag from Red X shop!)
Edited to say, ditto- what can I do with 150ml Elmlea double ? Hmmmmm maybe a cheese and onion quiche, any other ideas ?Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Have spent £55.56p so far this month which leaves me with £144.44p. I have listed all foods in freezer/fridge/cupboard and have done a 2 week meal plan of food which we eat regularly. As most of the ingredients for this are already in I will start this plan on the last 2 weeks of the month. I have made a shopping list to make up any shortfall of ingredients. I intend to keep to this 2 week meal plan (with a few deviations when we get bored) because I thought if I keep the meals simple I won't have to buy so much as I will only be buying stuff I know I will use and won't have things in the cupboard which never gets used IYSWIM. It is in my opinion just as wasteful to stock stuff that doesn't get used as it is to throw stuff away. I decided to start this plan mid month as I have lots of stuff in stock that are not part of this meal plan to use up first. So to use these bits up, while OH is away this week I will be eating all the odds and sods and next week we will be eating all the stuff in the freezer/cupboard which is not on my basic menu plan. I can only try.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

If anyone likes lemon curd and doesn't fancy making their own, I just got a jar of Gale's in Mr T for 20p (Mr T value is 35p!) Lady on the till commented on how cheap it was and said she thought someone might have made a boo-boo on the 'puter, so get it while you can.
(I'm so sad - I couldn't wait to get home and tell you all that I'd found a bargain!! :rotfl::o)
Also, can I freeze fresh coriander? Mr T only had large bags and I won't use it all before it goes yellow and floppy. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Hi *BigBird* - yes coriander can be frozen no worries - just pop it in a plastic bag and grab off frozen bits as you need them... xMFW #185

Evening all
OrkneyStar... i have 3 tubs of marscapone in the freezerI figured that you can use it to make cheesecakes, and you can buy frozen cheesecakes.... tada..in my mind that means i can freeze marscapone :rotfl: -ok if im being honest -there isn't much i don't freeze
Well after todays super whoopsies.. Hubby offered to fetch us a gyros for dinner tonight to save me cooking.. not on my nelly -you have never seen my bum get off the sofa sooo quick.. in under 20 mins hubby was sat eating chilli n noodles -one of his faves and i was eating thai beef curry with noodles and a naan -curry, chilli and naan all HM portions out of the freezer :j ... not only was it nicer than a gyros.. but it saved us about €15 and it was quicker than hubby going to the takeaway :T
We were chatting today and saying that we really have to get some serious saving done if we are to sell the house we have back in the UK to get something with more garden -and preferably no bl**dy neighbours -well not joined anyway
At the moment we have one side with a toddler and she seems to be forever screeching at it.. and now has another on the way -oh joy of joys and the otherside have an adorable puppy -but when they go out the put it in the basement so i howels periodically throughout the day  i have no issue with the pup.. its naff owners i have a problem with.. i allready can get it to sit, leave, wait and fetch..and i have known it 2 weeks-they can do b*gger all with it as they haven't got a clue
Enough rantinganyway i have said that i don't care if we have no double glazing/central heating etc if it means we can get a bit more ground and space... which will save in the long run as i can then get the veggie growing onto a whole new level:p ... I will have all you lovely lot on the OS boards to help me winter proof the house etc -anything for some peace
So if you see my budget slipping -PLEASE give me a quick kick up the bum
right -now i have vented my spleen i will go away again..have a great -quiet, calm evening everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
