Guys, any suggestions ?? My old PC is installed inthe kid's room for them, but it has just refused to boot up, sticking on the above command line. After doing some googling for the problem, I need to:
1. Get a new battery for the MOBOand replace (tried an old one I had lying around, but don't know if it's good or not, hence getting a new one)
2. Am going to try swapping PSU as think there's a problem there (no power to keyboard, for instance, so maybe 5 and 12V regulators may have gone)
3. If these work and get power back, a CMOS reset may also help.
Anyone got any other suggestions, (other than a goosed MOBO) ?!?!?!??

Disconnect all peripherals and remove any add on cards, unplug the hdd and see if it will attempt boot from a cd.click here to achieve nothing!0

I'd do items 1 and 3 first and skip 2 for now.
If the BIOS config data (held in NVRAM) is corrupt, the BIOS won't load so the keyboard, mouse and USB circuitry won't have been initialised - the likely cause of no power there.0 -
