Is it time to cap house prices?

far more important than capping house prices, would be a sensible attitude to social housing.
build more decent quality family sized social housing, and the demand for housing will reduce, which will bring the prices down for those who want to buy.
the mindset of this country is just wrong though with regard to housing now, it's far more concerned with avarice than shelter. It's a health benefit ...0 -
Given your own lack of coherence I assume you cut and pasted that prejudiced garbage from the BNP website. That is ironic as by your own criteria you would end up at the bottom of most reasonable people's list.0

one of my old housemates was a barrister and loads of his peers would come round our house and do shed loads of charlie after work. Sometimes wed have 15 in our lounge. One of the reasons I moved out of this "professional houseshare"
Did you not catch the observe last weekend there was an article about heroin use in the legal profession, yes it was only one person saying it ( she was a legal PA high level as I recall, cant grab it now Ive recycled it) but AFAIR she stated she was happy at work with this, no one knew and she was happily smoking in the toilets and no one ever caught her and she was confident that no one would She could not estimate how many people in her firm were users, but certainly suspected a few.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I've never come across it myself - I wouldn't have thought it that common.
Personally, I've always steered well clear of Class A drugs!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I guess any high-stress profession is going to have higher rates of drug/alcohol abuse.
Capping mortgage offers at 3x salary wouldn't be a bad idea.0 -
Introduce a property tax rather than Council Tax. Say 1% on the first property you own, 5% p.a. on any others. The one you own is the one you're registered to vote at. That'll kill the property speculation dead for ever.
Maybe then people will invest in productive assets. You know, businesses, plant and machines, that kind of thing. This country has been selling houses at inflated prices and calling it "growth" for far, far too many years.0 -

I'm sorry NDG, I know barristers who do (cocaine). Quite few of them, in fact.
In fact, I know one whose very pubic disbarring last year was publically blamed on drug fuelled behaviour.0 -
coke use is the fastest growing form of drug abuse in this country at the moment, due to the drop in the price and the increase in the quality. It's a health benefit ...0
