I've just got my student daughter a Dell 2200 laptop but it's only got 256MB memory. Can I upgrade it to 512MB by adding another stick, do I need special laptop memory and where is the best place to get it from?
many thanks

You can upgrade the laptop memory, there is usually a Hatch on the underside with two screws that you undo and the module recepticle is there, make sure lappy is unplugged (no Power) I suggest you see manufacturers website or phone them to know what memory you need or try http://www.crucial.com/uk/0

You should be able to add another 256 meg quite easy.
Go so https://www.crucial.com/uk and there is a step by step guide to find the correct memory for your laptop. I have used them in the past and they are very good.0 -
Gosh, that was quick, thanks for the advice. I've been to Crucial and ordered another 256MB - i just hope my daughter appreciates it!0
