ryan air flights

Can anyone give me some advice?
Bought tickets from ryan air six months ago to go away in sept, for 3 people the flights were £200, a bargain, i thought at the time.
However, circumstances have changed and two names on the tickets have to be changed.
Ryan Air want £80.00 per person, £160.00 just to change the names!!
How can they justify this, when done over the internet, there is no admin involved as such. The flights are 6weeks away, so not shirt notice.
It seems as if i have to pay this ridiculous charge?

You do if you want to change the names.

It's the "price" for using no frills airlines.

(Their ts + cs cover this)

That's the way RyanAir make their money - I refuse to fly with them any longer because of their ridiculous charging systems. Last one I heard of was charging extra for each passenger for debit card transactions even if it was all done in a single transaction - you don't find out until the final invoicing screen. Thank goodness the other no-frills airlines haven't yet caught up with RyanAir's tactics.

This is correct, I have fallen foul of this devious charging structure myself.

You pay the charge for each passenger and each leg of the journey, so 2 people on a return journey and you pay 4 times even though it is a single credit card transaction.

However some people seem to think I am expecting Ryanair to be a charity

Ryanair seem to despise their customers.

DD booked cheap flights the other week. Tried to pay by card and was informed that the transaction had failed. Had to go out. A couple of hours later tried again and was successful. Then received emails to say she'd booked and paid twice.

Ryanair are virtually impossible to make direct contact with. But DD, refusing to be beaten on principle, spent hours and probably more money than the tickets cost - eventually getting one booking refunded.

Ryanair is definitely a last resort.

And who knows where cheap air travel is going. It may be on the way out.

Yep... You can't complain like this when you paid so little money to start of with - thats one of the things you should have known before you even booked the trip. It infuriates me when I watch airlines and folks get so worked out about easyjet to the point that it is becoming unreasonable. It is supprising how many idiots there are out there who actually do not at least quickly read the T&C on thier website before the bought the ticket only to complain when the are checking in on the desk. I think buying cheap tickets and complaining about thier penalties would almost be someone who buys a sports car but complain about its thirst for fuel. You know what you are getting into and therefore can avoid it.

This website is about "consumer revenge".

Consumer revenge is about consumers getting there own back when they have been conned/ misled etc. Why should it apply to those who just can't be bothered to read some pretty simple booking conditions?
    Gone ... or have I?

I think it is different when the T&C are clearly stated... Why sign a contract when you disagree with it? I wouldn't sign a contract to rent a flat more than I would want to pay would I? You certainly need to be daft to do that. If you know there is some loophole around this which is totally within the T&C, then fair enough. But if the person didn't agree with the T&C and wants to complain, that is out of the question. So that is not consumer revenge so to speak.

And of course, I agree with dmg24 or should I say he agrees with prob. majority of us. So stop complaining and either bite the bullet or buy from an airline with the 'right' T&C.

Mind you, I am not being vindictive as I can understand that the OP prob. had a change of circumstance but I don't think it is fair to complain - I certainly wouldn't. But no harm trying though - nothing to lose. Just make sure you don't be one of them unreasonable people shown on airlines lol. I'm sure you're not :)
