Hello

I would like to apply for the travel grant through my LEA. I am a medical student so I do a lot of travelling for my course. Unfortunately, I can't find any notes about how to go claiming, what is allowed/not allowed. I've spoken to the council office and they have been very vague with their answers. Anyone know where can I find information or notes about claiming? I've googled it but haven't been successful. I have a few main questions, namely:

- Can I claim parking costs back?
- Can I claim back costs, ie. petrol and parking costs without tickets (as tickets were not always available and sometimes there was a card which was charged up)
- Can I claim back traveling costs for my elective (held in the UK)?

If anyone could let me know then I would be grateful! Thanks

If you can't find the info online, go and talk to the advice centre/student support services/whatever they're called at your university. Or talk to other students on your course. That might be the simplest way

Hi Adidas you can claim for your travel costs back as you're doing a medical degree. I was under the impression this was paid by your LEA so they should know about this, although I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

Perhaps checking www.studentfinancedirect.co.uk might shed some light.
