Anyone done this? Starting to think I really want to do this sooner (within a couple of years) rather than later (30 years time when I retire), and wanted advice from people who had done this.
Basically I have a fair old idea of where I want to go, but wondered how you cope with the logistics?
Ideally in a few years I'll have paid off my mortgage, be close to paying it off, and that will be the start of the countdown - my thought is to rent out my house to provide a small income, but to have the ticket and basic money available from savings. I currently have no kid or partner to worry about, and realistuicsally, it'll stay like that
.
I would hope that I would be able to negotiate unpaid leave from my job so that when I came back, there would be somethintg for me, but I apprecaite this is not a dead cert, and wouldnt let it stop me.
Any tips/advice greatfully received, I appreciate this is a long way off, but even the thought of planning this is getting me excited
