Are our electrics dangerous?!

I'm really worried! Today, I kept getting electric shocks off our DVD player, just on the casing, and the same with the Sky box and it seems to be coming from the Scart lead from the telly. We've tried two different Scarts, two different tellys and always the same thing - you can feel an electric current running through…

Thanks guys!

We bought a mains testing screwdriver and found that it was the DVD player that was the source of the trouble! The screwdriver lit up whenever it was passed over the casing. We also bought one of those plugs that test your wiring and that was all fine.

So, off to take DVD player back to Argos tomorrow. Have lost receipt unfortunately but at least we hope the manufacturer will be told about the fault.
